Prof. Dr. Inéz Frerichs is an expert on electrical impedance tomography (EIT), member of the International steering committee on EIT and the head of the EIT research group at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel, Germany. In her scientific career, she has been involved with different aspects of lung-oriented research (e.g., gas transport in the lungs, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, respiratory mechanics, functional lung imaging, wearable lung monitoring). She has published 225 original articles (173 on EIT), 22 reviews and 23 book chapters. She was the coordinator and first author of the first Consensus statement on chest EIT.
